About the Role:
The Neurophysiology Scientist (Grade 2) is a Fixed-Term, Full-Time position at 80 hours per fortnight within the Neurology department.
You will be responsible for performing and interpreting a range of diagnostic tests to assess and monitor neurological function. Key responsibilities include conducting EEG studies and nerve conduction studies. Services are provided across various locations within the organisation, including intensive care and operating theatres. You will also be part of an on-call roster service during weekend and public holidays.
Classification for this position will range from RY4: Grade 2, Year 1, $94,478.80 – RY7: Grade 2, Year 4, $106,960.80 (plus Superannuation - Medical Scientists Award).
What You’ll Achieve:
- Deliver excellent evidence-based neurophysiological assessments to inpatients and outpatients setting of The Royal Children’s Hospital according to the protocols of the neurology Department
- Participate in professional development activities to ensure that best clinical practice is maintained
- Provide child centred, family focused care through partnership with parents/ families
- Possess well-developed verbal communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail with the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
- Actively contribute. as an individual and as a member of a team, to the continuous improvement of health care quality and patient safety
Your Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science or Applied Science
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in neurophysiology or related health field
- Proven experience in a team environment and ability to work well as part of a team

About the Department:
The Neurophysiology Department is part of the Neurology Unit. Our neurophysiology service provides routine EEG testing, at-home video EEG monitoring, ambulatory EEG monitoring, long-term inpatient video EEG monitoring (VEM), nerve conduction studies, intraoperative multimodal evoked potential monitoring and intraoperative electrocorticography.
