Job Title: Senior Project Officer – Paediatric Sepsis Pathway

About the Role: 

This is a part-time, fixed-term position based within the Victorian Paediatric Clinical Network (VPCN), part of the Strategy, Planning and Performance Division at the Royal Children’s Hospital. The Senior Project Officer will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of the Paediatric Sepsis Pathway Pilot—aimed at improving early recognition and treatment of sepsis in children across Victoria’s health system. The role will work in partnership with Safer Care Victoria and health services state-wide to support safer, more consistent paediatric care.

 

What you’ll achieve:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Paediatric Sepsis Pathway Pilot
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders, hospitals, and stakeholders to support system-wide improvements
  • Monitor project performance, identify barriers, and contribute to improved paediatric health outcomes
  • Apply improvement methodologies and coordinate engagement across pilot sites
  • Prepare high-quality project documentation, reports, and briefings

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, with experience in project leadership within a healthcare setting
  • Strong background in healthcare improvement, clinical engagement, and system-wide change initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders including health services and government bodies
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of paediatric care or clinical systems is desirable

About the Department:

The Victorian Paediatric Clinical Network (VPCN) is a partnership between health services from across Victoria. The VPCN brings together collective expertise and is dedicated to identify and address quality and safety issues impacting the Victorian paediatric service system, and supporting the delivery of safe, effective, accessible, and equitable health care for the benefit of all children, young people, and their families. For administrative purposes VPCN staff are employed by The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), as part of the Strategy, Planning and Performance Division.
