2026 General Medicine Senior Registrar HM25- HM30

About the Role

There are multiple Part Time / Fixed Term  0.4eft Senior Registrar positions available for 2026 within the the Department of General Medicine.

 

You will be part of the General Medicine broader team and will be involved in the delivery of clinical service in the Short Stay Unit, Outpatient setting, as well as hospital leadership in the Evening Medical Lead role, involving co-ordination of junior medical staff workload and collaboration across the hospital.

Classification for this position will range from HM25 – HM30

 

What you’ll achieve:

  • Clinical care of acute general paediatric conditions for patients  expected to require admission <48 hrs in the Short Stay Unit.
  • After hours leadership across the hospital, involving co-ordination of workload and patient care and ensuring the Junior Medical Staff are working collaboratively as a team, in addition to clinical assessment and management of admitted patients including those under sub-specialty teams in the Evening Medical Lead role.
  • Provision of clinical care in the outpatient setting in a supervised capacity.

 

Your skills and experience

  • MBBS or equivalent
  •  Registration with AHPRA and eligibility for medical registration within Victoria
  • Current enrolment in the RACP Advanced Training Program
  • All Intenational Medical Graduate applicants will need to meet the AHPRA English Language Requirements

About the Department

The Department of General Medicine is one of the largest departments at RCH.  At any time, a total of 108 staff (Senior Medical, Junior Medical, Nursing, and Administrative) work in the Department. The Department of General Medicine has a range of sub-specialty interests in addition to General Paediatrics and is committed to the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care. There are 3 subspecialty units within it, including Rheumatology, Immigrant Health and Clinical Pharmacology.  All units report to the Director of General Medicine.
