About the Role
We have an opportunity for a full time permanent position, 80 hours per fortnight within the Rehabilitation department at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
As the Administration coordinator you will be responsible for clerical and administrative support to the Rehabilitation team. This includes activities such as booking of appointments, responding to patient phone queries, ordering office materials and maintaining the information systems within the department. You will have support from the departmental manager and clinical coordinators.
The position suits someone with excellent communication skills, is personable and works well with others in a team environment.

The position of the Administration Coordinator is a customer service role involving a high level of interaction with patients and their families and the VPRS-RCH team.
Classification for this position will be an Grade 2 level 1 to Grade 2 level 5 (AO21 to AO25)
What you’ll achieve:
- Schedule and prioritise outpatient appointment for the rehabilitation clinicians
- Manage inbound and outbound phone calls from families and clinicians
- Respond promptly to clinical questions by delegation to the clinical team
- Assist with efficient running of the department and office environment
- Contribute to improvement strategies and service efficiencies
Your skills and experience
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office programs.
- Demonstrated experience with applications eg Electronic Medical Records, Patient Administrative Systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Previous experience in a health care setting
About the Department
The rehabilitation department is an interdisciplinary service providing specialised care for children with acquired and congenital disability. The RCH team is the main site for paediatric rehabilitation in Victoria an is part of a state wide service.
