Join Our Team at The Orthopaedics Department, Royal Children’s Hospital – Administration Officer,

Are you a proactive, detail-oriented administration professional ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and families? The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Orthopaedic Department is looking for a dedicated Administration Officer to help us make a difference for children with musculoskeletal problems.

Your Role

As the Administration Officer, you will provide vital administrative support to the Deputy Director and Administration Team Leader of the Orthopaedics Department. From managing departmental communications and supporting specialist clinics, to helping coordinate meetings and events, you’ll ensure the smooth day-to-day running of one of our most critical clinical departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for the department’s email and phone enquiries.
  • Provide high-quality support to the Deputy Director and Admin Team Leader.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to assist with clinic schedules.
  • Assist with the coordination of meetings, events and case conference documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records, order supplies, and ensure compliance with confidentiality standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar administration role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Professional, confidential, and able to manage multiple priorities with a proactive attitude.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or knowledge of EMR systems (like EPIC) is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements
This role requires a valid Working with Children Check, National Police Check, and compliance with RCH immunisation standards.
