About the Role

This is a Permanent Full Time position at 80 hours per fortnight within the Quality Department. An exciting opportunity exists to provide quality leadership across the RCH. The Associate Director Quality (Patient Safety) is a member of the senior leadership team in the RCH Quality Department. The role leads contemporary patient safety practices, supports quality systems' relating to patient safety and drives a just culture and learning culture to support high quality safe care.

This role sits alongside two other Associate Directors of Quality each leading a strategic portfolio: clinical excellence, patient safety and patient experience.

Classification for this position will range from A081-A085 ($118.898 - $131,216.80 base salary per annum, plus superannuation)

What You’ll Achieve

Associate Director Quality – Patient Safety

  • A focus on Supporting the RCH to deliver high quality, safe care and success with relevant accreditation schemes.
  • Oversight of RCH quality systems including adverse patient safety events management and Victorian Hospital Incident Management System (VHIMS) governance.
  • Leadership and support of the RCH committees that support high quality, safe care.
  • Clinical governance support for the Division of Critical Care and Ambulatory Care.
  • Quality and improvement support of the People and Culture and Strategy, Planning and Performance Divisions.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership at a senior level within a tertiary healthcare setting.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a related field (preferably at Masters level).
  • Relevant industry experience and proven ability in building high functioning teams.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), preparation of reports and presentation skills.
