Clinical Nurse Consultant - Respiratory Medicine

About the Role
This is an ongoing Part Time position 38 hours per fortnight within the Cystic Fibrosis Team in the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine.
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will work in partnership with children and young people with cystic fibrosis, and their families, to ensure optimal outcomes. You will be the first point of contact for patients with CF and their families to provide timely clinical advice. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary cystic fibrosis team to provide cohesive family-centred care.
Classification for this position will range from CAPR 3.1 / 3.2 (ZF4-ZJ4) (base salary $113,000 to $119,000 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation)
What you’ll achieve:
- Provide expert clinical knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of patients with cystic fibrosis.
- Act as a clinical resource, advisor, and technical expert.
- Collaborate and consult with healthcare teams, patients, and families/carers to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe and efficient care.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, working groups and committees to contribute nursing perspectives and advocate for patient and family centred care.
- Contribute to quality by identifying areas for improvement, collecting, and analysing data and implementing evidence-based strategies.
Your skills and experience:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
- Extensive experience in the paediatric settings.
- Experience in the care of patients with cystic fibrosis.
- Higher degree or post graduate qualification in relevant area of practice is highly desirable.

About the Department
The Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine is a vibrant, supportive team, providing clinical care to children with a wide range of respiratory conditions. The Cystic Fibrosis Service provided multi-disciplinary care to approximately 220 children with cystic fibrosis from all parts of Victoria and Southern NSW.
