About the Role:

This is a Permanent Part Time position at 48 hours per fortnight within the Trauma Service. 

 

As the Trauma Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), you will be facilitating and supporting inpatient management of severely injured children, to ensure these children and their families receive quality and system-directed major trauma care throughout their patient journey, and navigate these systems in a coordinated fashion.

 

What you'll achieve:

  • You will provide expert clinical knowledge and skills, in the assessment and management of patients withinarea of specialisation
  • You will collaborate and consult with healthcare teams, patients and families/carers to develop and implementpatient care plans, ensuring the delivery of high quality, safe and efficient care
  • You will participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, working groups and committees to contribute nursingperspectives and advocate for patient and family centred care
  • You will facilitate the provision of relevant education and information to the family to empower them aspartners in their care
  • You will provide leadership and guidance to nurses, promoting a positive work environment and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

 

Your skills and experience

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP)
  • Post graduate qualification in the area of practice (or willing to work towards)
