About the role
There are two full time fixed-term (24 months) positions available, with one commencing immediately, and the other commencing July 2025.
This is an early-career psychologist role for those who are transitioning into the workforce after completion of university-based training. Over the course of employment, the clinical psychology registrar will complete a registrar program comprising of psychological practice, supervision and continuing professional development. This program will meet the requirements for eligibility to apply for practice endorsement in clinical psychology. The clinical psychology registrar will gain a breadth of experience working in both community and hospital-based teams, will be assigned a psychologist peer mentor, and will receive individual and group supervision and an in-house education program.
Classification for this position with range from PK1 - PK3, Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 3 ((Base salary $94,478.8 to $99,148.4 per annum, plus superannuation).

-You will complete a registrar program that meets the requirements for eligibility to apply for practice endorsement in clinical psychology
-You will make a valuable contribution to clinical care provided to patients and families at the RCH
Your Skills and Experience
- Completion of an accredited Master or Doctoral program in clinical psychology, recognised by Psychology Board of Australia
- General registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Knowledge of psychological and developmental disorders and their effects on children, young people and their families.
Preference will be given to applicants who are seeking their first professional psychologist role following their Masters or Doctoral qualification.
About the Department:
The Psychology Department provides clinical services, clinical governance, and educational and professional leadership to psychologists across all RCH teams and specialities.
The Psychology Department provides clinical services for children and young people aged 0-18 years, and their families and carers, via the Clinical Psychology Team and the Clinical Neuropsychology Team. The department’s Psychology Education Team coordinates psychology education across RCH, including clinical supervision and registrar training.
