About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Full Time position to cover Parental Leave for approximately 11 months, at 80 hours per fortnight within the Critical Care division. You will be responsible for providing support to all staff who work within PIPER- Retrieval service /The Emergency department and Neonatal Intensive Care unit (Butterfly Ward). At RCH we are focused on our people including their psychological wellbeing and their ability to be the very best version of themselves at work, which has a direct correlation to the care they provide to the patient's and their families. The primary purpose of this important role is to support our teams in ensuring we continue to build resilience by providing a variety of targeted interventions such as debriefing sessions, clinical education, reflective practice initiatives and mindfulness strategies.
Classification for this position will range from PK1-PK4, Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $92,627 to $104,811 per annum, plus superannuation).
What you’ll achieve:
- Ongoing development of the role of staff psychologist within the hospital and liaise appropriately to develop effective and evidence-based staff support programs on an individual and group level, adapting to service needs as required
- Participate in clinical supervision in accordance with local procedures
- Actively participate and continue to contribute to continuous improvement and continuing education opportunities
- Demonstrate flexibility in prioritising duties, adapting to the needs and priorities of the team, department and broader RCH
Your skills and experience:
- Completed an accredited Master or Doctoral programme in clinical psychology or health psychology recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia. (Note Master of Professional Psychology qualification does not meet this criteria)
- Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (Board)
- Continuously satisfy the Psychology Board of Australia’s continuing professional development standards
- Uphold the Psychology Board of Australia’s Code of Ethics
- Hold an Area of Practise Endorsement with the Board in clinical psychology or health psychology
- Hold Board - approved supervisor status, including Board approval as a ‘Registrar Programme Principal Supervisor’
- Have experience in clinical practice in the area of paediatric psychology
- Demonstrated experience in functioning independently as a psychologist and provision of a range of psychology services
- Demonstrated ability to supervise clinical staff and postgraduate students
- Knowledge of the psychological impact of severe health issues within the paediatric setting and the impact this has on adults/ healthcare workers
