About the Role

This is a Fixed Term Full Time position to cover Parental Leave for 12 months until 20/07/2026, at 80 hours per fortnight within the Pharmacy Department

You will be responsible for managing the Compassionate Access Scheme medications and working in the outpatient dispensary. The Compassionate Access Program Pharmacist will be a senior member of the outpatient team who is responsible for the overall leadership of the program with an emphasis on growth and sustainability. There will an emphasis on improving documentation, processes and communication for patients and clinicians that utilise compassionate access medications.

 

Classification for this role is Pharmacist Grade 3 Year 1 - Year 4 (SX6 - SX81) ($108,820.4 - 123,905.6 Per Annum + Superannuation + Salary Packaging).

 

What You'll achieve:

  • Part of the leadership team for outpatient dispensary
  • Work collaboratively with the senior outpatient pharmacists to deliver a high-quality service for outpatients, compassionate access program and Life-Saving Drug Program
  • Be the key liaison point for clinicians, pharmaceutical companies and clinical trials staff on compassionate medication usage
  • Develop and maintain procedures for the access, storage, prescribing and administration of compassionate medications within the RCH

 

Your Skills and experience:

  • Registered to practice as a pharmacist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency & name appear on the register of the Pharmacy Board of Australia
  • Significant hospital pharmacy experience
  • experience with development of protocols or clinical trials

About The Pharmacy Department

We are a team of around 70 staff including pharmacists, technicians, and administrators. Our supportive and collaborative teams include Outpatients, Children’s Cancer Centre, Clinical Pharmacy, Clinical trials, and Medicines Information, HiTH and Sterile Services and the Pharmacy Business Unit.
