Job Title: Digital Health Partner – Ambulatory Services

About the Role
This is a new full time ongoing role which will play a pivotal part in progressing Digital Health across Ambulatory Services. This Digital Health Partner – Ambulatory Services will act as the digital expert for Ambulatory Services digital health decisions, providing evidence-based and best practice guidance to the team. The role will work closely with the Digital Innovations team and will lead and deliver enhancement or innovation projects across Ambulatory Services and the Digital Portfolio. The role will also be a key representative of Ambulatory Services across the organisation and Parkville Precinct.
This role will report professionally to the Director of Digital Innovation and work as part of the Digital Innovation team, with operational reporting also to the General Manager Ambulatory Services. The Digital Health Partner - Ambulatory Services will work closely with Digital Innovation, Ambulatory Services, Parkville EMR teams, Chief Information Officers across RCH and relevant external providers.
Classification for this role will be discipline dependant: Allied Health Clinician Grade 3 year 1 – 4 or equivalent Psychologist / Pharmacist / Nurse / Administrative Officer.
What you’ll achieve:
- Act as the digital health expert for Ambulatory Services digital health decisions, providing digital guidance to clinical teams within and ensuring digital standards and approvals are followed
- Lead and drive consultation on the design, development and implementation of digital innovation
- Drive Ambulatory Services projects that have a digital focus
Your skills and experience
- Demonstrated competence in digital health
- Extensive experience in large hospital organisations, with an interest in digital workflows, best practice innovation and healthcare informatics or transferable experience
- Demonstrated understanding of improvement science, service design or user experience design
- Highly motivated and solution focused with strong ability to adapt in the situation to problem solve through challenges as they arise
- Proven track record in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives

About the Department
The Digital Innovation team at RCH is an agile team that drives digital health innovation across all areas of the hospital. We work with clinical and administrative staff to find transformation opportunities, both within our Epic EMR platform and across emerging healthcare technologies. We spearhead initiatives from AI-powered ambient listening pilots to patient portal journeys and Copilot capabilities, always with a focus on measurably improving patient outcomes and staff experience.
Ambulatory Services is one division within RCH and has responsibility for Complex Care, Family Healthcare Support, Day Medical and Day Oncology Units, Hospital in the Home (Wallaby) as well as Specialist Clinics (SPC). As a service, we have a broad remit across the organisation and work closely with other divisions including Medicine, Surgery and Critical Care.
