Job Title: Digital Health Partner – Virtual Care | Digital Innovation & EMR
About the Role
This is a Full time (80hrs/fortnight incl ADO), Fixed Term Full Time opportunity within the Virtual Care and EMR & Digital Innovation Teams, with funding in place until 31 December 2027. The role is available to commence immediately.
This position has been established through a generous RCH Foundation grant funding initiation and delivery of the RCH Virtual Care Project. It will provide digital health leadership across key virtual care initiatives including enhacing RCH Patient Portal usage and uptake.
We are seeking a suitably skilled Digital Health Partner to provide digital health consultancy, implementation support, and solution design to enable delivery of virtual care and "Care Beyond Our Walls" initiatives at The Royal Children’s Hospital.
You will work closely with the Chief Clinical Information Officer and Director of Virtual Care, clinical leaders, program teams, and digital specialists and analysts to design and embed EMR-enabled and digital solutions, support clinician engagement, and drive sustainable adoption of digital workflows that improve care outcomes.
Classification for this role is multidisciplinary, with Allied Health Clinician Grade 3 (Year 1–4) or equivalent Psychologist / Pharmacist / Nurse / Administrative Officer.
What you’ll achieve:
- Lead digital health design and implementation for virtual care and ambulatory health initiatives
- Translate clinical and program needs into effective EMR-enabled solutions
- Partner with clinicians and stakeholders to embed digital workflows and improve care delivery
- Deliver change management, education and engagement to support adoption of digital tools
- Support data analysis, reporting and evaluation to inform program outcomes and continuous improvement
Your skills and experience
- Tertiary qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Psychology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated experience in digital health, clinical informatics or service design
- Experience working with Electronic Medical Record systems in healthcare settings
- Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to work across clinical and technical teams
- Ability to translate complex clinical requirements into practical digital solutions

About the Department
The DI & EMR team sits in the Digital Portfolio within the Digital and Allied Health Division. The Digital and Allied Health Division leads the hospital's digital transformation agenda, and is responsible for the implementation, optimisation and governance of digital health technologies, including the Electronic Medical Record, the RCH Patient Portal, artificial intelligence clinical solutions and virtual care platforms.
The Virtual Care Team is within the Digital Portfolio, Digital and Allied Health Division. It is a collaborative program team with the Director Virtual Care and Project Manager, that brings clinical workflows to life through the RCH Patient Portal — building telehealth appointment workflows, GP e-consult tools, remote monitoring modules and patient-facing digital features.
RCH has made significant investments in digital health capability, including the implementation and ongoing optimisation of the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) shared across the Parkville precinct, expansion of virtual and digitally enabled models of care, maturation of enterprise data and analytics platforms, and the emerging adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical and operational settings.
