2026 Digital Innovation Fellow (EMR)

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Melbourne is one of the world's great children's hospitals. We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff of over 6,000 people, the Royal Children’s Hospital provides a full range of tertiary clinical services, health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people, high level research and education services.

  • The Digital Innovation team has established this informatics and education role, offered for 12 months for either 1 person at 0.5FTE or 2 persons (1 at 0.2FTE, 1 at 0.3FTE)

 

Primary Responsibility:

  • The primary purpose of this position is to work as part of the Digital Innovation team to assist medical staff and teams using the EMR to optimise their efficiency. It also delivers EMR education and educational support to new and existing medical staff at RCH.

 

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the medical speciality optimisation programme to enhance doctors’ efficiency and EMR utilisation.
  • Contribute to governance of the Digital Innovation team’s decisions on the build and tools used by junior doctors.
  • Review and maintain the EMR medical curriculum and resources and its modes of delivery, including providing expert support, 
  • Collaborate with Medical Informaticians on informatics projects.
  • Advise the education team on the EMR medical curriculum and delivery of education.
  • Support the development of an Informatics workforce within RCH.

 

The position is based in Parkville at the Royal Children’s Hospital, previous experience in Epic functionality is essential.
