Fellows in Paediatric Emergency Medicine

About the Role
We are recruiting to several full and part-time positions commencing February and August 2027. These are fixed term positions for 6 or 12 months. Rotations to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Trauma Service are also available.
You will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision and direct patient care in the Royal Children’s Hospital Emergency Department.
What you’ll achieve:
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in the practice of paediatric emergency medicine
- Utilise and further develop your existing clinical and non-clinical skills
- Be a valued member of a multidisciplinary team.
Classification for this position with align with Doctors in Training (Victorian Public Sector) (AMA Victoria/ASMOF) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026.
Yours skills and experience:
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)
- Undergoing specialist training in paediatric emergency medicine
- All International Medical Graduate applicants will need to have passed their IELTS test (results must indicate a score of 7 or above in all bands) in order to be successful in this position.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate your role as a leader in a collaborative and respectful multidisciplinary team.

About the Emergency Department
The Emergency Department is the busiest paediatric ED in the country and assesses and treats 90,000 children a year for a range of urgent medical and surgical conditions. Senior staffing includes paediatric emergency medicine specialists and fellows undergoing specific training in paediatric emergency medicine. Together they provide supervision to registrars, junior medical staff and medical students. The department has an active education program and plays a major role in national and international paediatric emergency medicine research.
