Physiotherapist (Grade 3) - Orthopaedics

About the Role:

This is a Permanent, Part Time position at 0.8 FTE/60.8 hours per fortnight within the Physiotherapy Department. You will be working as a senior member of the Orthopaedic Cerebral Palsy Service, which is part of the Department of Orthopaedics. You will be responsible for providing advanced practice physiotherapy services to children with Cerebral Palsy and like conditions, who have been referred to the Orthopaedic Outpatient Department. There will be the opportunity to be part of professional development activities and job specific training will be provided depending on experience.

 

Classification for this position will range from VB7 - VC1 (base salary $104,135 to  $118,981 FTE per annum, plus superannuation).

 

What you'll achieve:

  • Provide high quality, safe and effective musculoskeletal assessment of children with Cerebral Palsy through physiotherapy-led outpatient orthopaedic clinics
  • Provide the Cerebral Palsy hip surveillance program at RCH
  • Be a source of clinical expertise, advocacy and guidance within the Physiotherapy and Orthopaedic Departments, and more broadly across the organisation

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Hold a Physiotherapy degree qualification and registration to practice as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
  • At least seven years of paediatric physiotherapy clinical experience, with at least three years experience working with children with Cerebral Palsy
  • A relevant post-graduate qualification or working towards one, and/or relevant publications in peer reviewed journals
  • Excellent skills in motivating and communicating with community, children and families
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

About the Department:

The Physiotherapy Department is a vibrant community of individuals who share a commitment to ongoing learning and partnering with families in the provision of evidence-based care. The Department also embodies the RCH Compact pledge that 'we do better work caring for children and families when we also care for each other'. The Orthopaedic Cerebral Palsy service provides specialised orthopaedic care to children wtih CP across Victoria and beyond and predominantly manage pelvic and lower limb problems. The service is a world leader in the care of orthopaedic problems in children with CP, and is made up of a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, nurse coordinator, physiotherapists and biomedical engineers (Gait Analysis laboratory).
