About the Role:

This is a Part Time Ongoing position at 72 hours per fortnight (0.95 EFT) within the Access and Clinical Operations Division.

The Hospital Manager is a senior nursing leader who provides operational oversight to ensure continuity of operations of the RCH health service after hours. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all operational, clinical and administrative matters outside of regular business hours, providing leadership, support and decision making to ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely patient care.

What you'll achieve:

  • Undertake the role of the Clinical Advisor liaising with the Chief Warden in accordance with Emergency Management procedures and protocols.
  • Responsible for responding to emergency situations and provide leadership in the management of all emergencies in line with RCH policy and procedures.
  • Identify barriers and changing patient demands impacting patient flow and initiate solutions within the resources available to support timely, safe patient access.
  • Developement of effective strategies to deal with and resolve issues.
  • Ensure necessary escalation, approvals and information are discussed with and reported to the relevant key stakeholders.

Classification for this position will be After Hours Coordnator (8A CAMPUS) NM 5A (ZC7) (base salary $136,796.40 (per annum, plus superannuation).

Your skills and experience:

  • Current registration as Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Demonstrated extensive clinical nursing experience
  • Demonstrated extensive leadership experience (previous ANUM or NUM level)
