Infant Mental Health Coordinator (Gr 4 Allied Health, Gr 5 Nursing)

  • Permanent, part time (0.8 FTE) role

 

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position at 0.8 FTE/60.8 hours per fortnight within RCH Mental Health.

You will be responsible for coordinating and providing infant mental health care for hospital inpatients, as well as providing leadership, clinical support and training to community-based infant mental health clinicians, and contributing to program and policy development.

This position will be primarily based at The Royal Children’s Hospital Parkville site but will on occasion be required to attend RCH Mental Health community sites.

Applications involving reduced FTE and/or job-sharing arrangements will be considered and are encouraged.

Classification for this multidisciplinary position is Gr4 Allied Health/Gr 5 Nursing:

Grade 4 Occupational Therapist (HR9-HR13)     $98,409 - $108,426 p/a plus superannuation

Grade 4 Psychologist (PM1- PM5)                        $98,642 - $118,647 p/a plus superannuation

Grade 4 Social Worker (HR25-HR28)                   $98,409 - $108,426 p/a plus superannuation

Grade 4 Speech Pathologist (HR13-HR16)          $98,409 - $108,426 p/a plus superannuation

Grade 5 Registered Psychiatric Nurse (NP51)    $101,508 p/a plus superannuation

 

What you’ll achieve:

  • Deliver excellent evidence-based practice mental health assessments and interventions for hospital inpatients
  • Delegate healthcare activity according to staff competency and scope of practice to ensure appropriate workload management and prioritisation across the department ensuring others can self-manage and regulate their workload
  • Deliver education and training at networks, forums, hospital or statewide level
  • Develop, review and contribute to policies, protocols and guidelines within clinical area
  • Provide expert, evidence based clinical mentoring, education, training, consultation and supervision to staff and students

 

Your skills and experience

 

  • Entry to practice tertiary qualification
  • Registration with the appropriate professional body
  • Extensive mental health experience
  • Experience working in an acute health setting
  • Proven capacity for clinical leadership in a team environment and ability to work well as a senior team member

About the Department

RCH Mental Health is the Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service for the North-Western metropolitan area of Melbourne.  It comprises community- and hospital-based services providing recovery focussed interventions for infants and children up to 12 years of age and their families, (hospital-based services work up to 18 yrs).
