About the Role

This is a Fixed Term Full Time Parental Leave replacement position within the Central Steralising Services Department. This position requires a qualified Instrument Technician who can work in all areas of CSSD without direct supervision. The purpose of this position is to provide all stages of reprocessing services for patient care equipment for all RCH departments and surgical instruments for use in surgery.  

 

What you'll achieve:

  • Performing all CSSD daily activities and duties, ensuring a timely delivery of services and products, while ensuring that all tasks are performed according to documented instructions and in accordance with current Australian Standards  
  • Monitoring the operation of all reprocessing equipment and reporting any failures of these according to through the internal reporting system for faults and repairs ensuring safety of all staff is maintained  
  • Assisting in the orientation of new staff members within CSSD to allow for appropriate and timely training of all new and trainee staff  
  • Using all the CSSD processing equipment in a safe manner Assisting with all stages of stock management as required to ensure appropriate levels of stock is available ensuring continuity of service  
  • Responding to enquiries and requests as required providing great customer service.  

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Certificate III in Health – Sterilizing Practice for Technicians  
  • CSSD experience in accordance with the Award  
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation.  
  • Knowledge of sterilization procedures and practices

  • Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
  • Valid Working with Children Check
