About the Roles:
This is a permanent part time position at 44 hours per fortnight within the Nutrition and Food Services Department. Casual employment opportunities also available.
You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of hygiene in all kitchen areas and support the department’s Food Safety Program. You will be responsible for kitchen cleaning and sanitising, dishwashing and pot-washing, waste management, salad and sandwich preparation, and assisting with belt set-up. Some manual labour is a requirement of this role.
Classification for this position will range from IN13 - IN14, Food and Domestic Assistant Grade 1 to Food and Domestic Assistant Grade 2 ($24.28-$27.08 per hour + superannuation).
What you’ll achieve:

Work as part of a team to achieve high quality patient meals service

Comply with the principles of food safety and the RCH Food Safety Program

Comply with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Your skills and experience:

Ability to read and write English, sufficient to understand verbal and written instructions and communicate with other staff

High standard of personal presentation and hygiene

Basic numeracy skills

About the Department:
The Department of Nutrition and Food Services is a large department of around 120 staff incorporating the main kitchen, central formula room and the clinical dietetics service.
The main kitchen provides 3 cook fresh meals and a mid-meals service for approximately 100 patients per day. The central formula room produces formula, enteral feeds and fortifies expressed breast milk for approximately 120 patients per day. This is a 7 day a week operation.
