Lead Clinical Pharmacist (Grade 4) - Oncology

About the Role

This is a Permanent Full-Time position at 80 hours per fortnight within the Pharmacy Department.

You will provide professional and operational leadership to the Oncology Pharmacy team within the Children's Cancer Centre while maintaining an advanced clinical practice role. You will lead medication safety, quality improvement, research and strategic initiatives, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based pharmacy services to paediatric oncology patients while contributing to the broader strategic direction of the Pharmacy Department.

Classification for this position will range from TA20 to TA22, Grade 4 Year 1 to Grade 4 Year 4 (plus superannuation) ($127,535.20 - $148,309.20 per annum).

 What you’ll achieve:

• Lead specialist oncology pharmacy services across the Children's Cancer Centre, fostering excellence in patient care, medication safety and quality improvement.
• Provide leadership, mentorship and performance support to a team of oncology pharmacists, promoting professional growth and workforce capability.
• Drive strategic projects, service development initiatives and research activities that improve outcomes for children receiving cancer therapy.
• Develop and maintain strong multidisciplinary partnerships across the organisation and represent RCH in state, national and international oncology pharmacy forums.
• Monitor and report on high-cost oncology medication expenditure, supporting financial stewardship and sustainable service delivery

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent and current registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA.
• Postgraduate Master’s qualification in a relevant discipline, or significant progress towards completion.
• Demonstrated experience leading clinical teams and driving service improvement initiatives within a complex healthcare environment.
• Extensive experience in oncology pharmacy practice, with highly developed clinical, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, influence outcomes across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to research and education activities.

About the Department

The Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive clinical pharmacy, medication supply and medicines information services to patients across The Royal Children's Hospital. The Oncology Pharmacy team is embedded within the Children's Cancer Centre and works closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams to support children receiving cancer treatment, stem cell transplantation and advanced therapies. The team has a strong focus on medication safety, research, innovation and the delivery of world-class paediatric oncology care.
