Job Title: Medical Record Clerk (Grade 2) – Health Information Services

About the Role
This is a Permanent Part Time position at 0.63 FTE, 48 hours per fortnight within the Health Information Services department. The days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00am -4:30pm.
You will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the physical and electronic medical record in addition to updating and maintaining the integrity of patient information. You will work as part of a team, as well as autonomously, to supply medical records and information to our internal and external clients, which is vital in providing quality patient care.
- Classification for this position will range from AO21 – AO25 (base salary $66,468 to $73,812 per annum, plus superannuation)
What you’ll achieve:
- Preparation and sorting of patient documents prior to scanning
- Process requests for information from external sources and release information by following Freedom of Information and Release of Information procedures.
- Provide high level customer service and engage in a professional manner with all stakeholders when dealing with departmental enquiries and requests
- Participate in activities including performance reviews and development plans, and key performance indicators (KPIs), training and team activities as scheduled
- Actively participate as part of the team to ensure ongoing excellence in our service delivery through equitable and efficient completion of tasks
Your skills and experience
- Strong commitment to work and contribute as part of a team
- Proficient in applying established administrative processes and systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe

About the Department
Health Information Services (HIS) provides a range of services for The Royal Children's Hospital including patient documentation scanning, clinical coding and Casemix education, updating and managing access to patient information, medical transcription, data correction and mandatory dataset submission.
