About the Role
This is a Permanent Full-Time position at 80 hours per fortnight within the Pharmacy Department.
You will be responsible for assisting with the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients on the surgical wards. This includes supporting the best use of medications and facilitating access and flow through the RCH by efficiently dispensing discharge medications.
What you'll achieve:

Provide comprehensive, professional, and high-quality technical support in the provision of pharmaceutical services

Work independently in technical tasks, being able to prioritize own workload and refer to the rotational surgical pharmacists where appropriate and with ward staff about discharge planning.

Liase with patients and families about their medical needs and instructions on taking medications.

Participate in the weekend and public holiday roster
Your skills and experience
-
Experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician
-
Familiarity with the Pharmaceuticals Benefits Scheme
-
Significant dispensing experience
-
Familiarity with Merlin and Epic computer system

Completed or working towards Certificate III or IV in Hospital Pharmacy

About the Pharmacy Department
We are a team of around 70 staff including Pharmacists, Technicians and Administrators.
Our supportive and collaborative team includes Outpatients, Children's Cancer Centre, Clinical Pharmacy, Clinical Trials, Medicines Information, Sterile services and Pharmacy Business Unit
