About the Role:
This is a Full time, 80hrs/fortnight (incld ADO), fixed term position within the Child Life Therapy and Music Therapy department. The FTC will be for a one year period, commencing 23rd Feb 2026.
Music Therapy at RCH is part of Allied Health and consists of a team of Registered Music Therapists who provide clinical music therapy services to infants, children and adolescents with a range of medical conditions. The team of Music Therapists support patients using targeted therapy sessions to assist with aspects of their hospital experience. The aim of Music Therapy is to use the experience of music to provide treatment support, mental health support and/or neurodevelopment. This is achieved through a range of face-to-face services and resourcing. You will be responsible for providing excellent music therapy services to patients and families while working in close collaboration with music therapy staff, medical, nursing and other allied health staff.
Classification for this position will be GA3 (base salary $70,590 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation plus salary packaging)

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Excellent music skills
- Current Registered Music Therapist (RMT) status with the Australian Music Therapy Association or MT-BC or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of music therapy for infants, children and young people; including neurodevelopment and mental health needs
- Effective communication strategies to maintain excellent interdisciplinary team dynamics
- Ability to work in the best interests of children and families in a family centred way
