The Position:

  • Full Time/Part Time Fixed Term

The Nurse Coordinator, Intake, is a key member of the nursing leadership team. Nurse Coordinators utilise and share specialist knowledge, skills and the essence of nursing to ensure excellence in care for patients supported by Wallaby Ward (HITH).

 

The Nurse Coordinator, Intake, will work to improve access, flow and the transfer of patients from inpatient wards, outpatient departments and the emergency department to Wallaby Ward. The Nurse Coordinator, Intake, will coordinate transfer and act as a key liaison with ward nurses and members of the multidisciplinary team on organisational process which facilitates the delivery of timely, clinically appropriate treatment to ensure achievement of agreed discharge planning dates.

This is a Monday-Saturday role, Full and part time applications for this role will be considered.

  • The base salary is $104,816.40 per annum.

 

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing an Midwifery Board of Australia(NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Extensive paediatric nursing experience.
  • Recent experience in acute, medical, surgical and/or specialty area of nursing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP)
  • A current, full drivers licence for the State of Victoria which is appropriate for the type of vehicle being driven, and comply with any restrictions on their licence (e.g. wearing glasses) while undertaking hospital duties
  • Evidence of on-going professional development as reflected in Professional Practice Portfolio.
