Occupational Therapist (Grade 3) Paediatric Rehabilitation (part-time fixed term)

About the Role
This is a fixed term part time position at 53.2 per fortnight within the Rehabilitation Department at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Classification for this position will range from Grade 3 year 1 to Grade 3 year 4 (pay scale 104,135.2 - 110,676.8)
You will be responsible for:
- You will provide specialist inpatient and ambulatory rehabilitation in partnership with children and families who require interdisciplinary, goal-focused innovative care.
- You are responsible for ensuring a best-practice approach to the delivery of rehabilitation, focusing on the child’s needs in the context of everyday activities and lifetime opportunities, empowering children to create their goals and own their rehabilitation journey.
- You will provide supervision for the grade 2 Rehabilitation Occupational Therapists
What you’ll achieve:
- Deliver excellent evidence-based practice occupational therapy assessments and interventions in an inpatient and ambulatory rehabilitation setting.
- Ensure timely provision of occupational therapy services through appropriate prioritisation of own caseload
- Develop treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the patient, their families and interdisciplinary team members
- Provide child centred, family focused care through partnerships with parents/families.
- Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to establish common goals and to develop and offer best care to children and families, ensuring that patient care is integrated and effective.
Your skills and experience
- Hold an OT degree qualification or equivalent from an accredited course / university.
- Be registered with AHPRA and as such satisfied the requirements of continuing professional development and recency of practice.
- Uphold the Code of Ethics, OT Australia.
- Demonstrated commitment to work and contribute as part of a team
- Demonstrated/embedded clinical practice and experience beyond entry-level

About the Department
The rehabilitation department is an interdisciplinary service providing specialised care for children with acquired and congenital disability. The RCH team is the main site for paediatric rehabilitation in Victoria and is part of a state wide service.
