About the Role:
This is a Full-Time permanent position at 80 hours per fortnight within the Occupational Therapy department.
Working at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) provides a unique and exciting opportunity to work alongside children and their families during pivotal life phases. You will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to inpatient and/or outpatient infants, children and adolescents, to support child development and maximise participation in daily activities and quality
What you'll achieve:
- Provide assessment and discharge plans in collaboration with patients and their families to maximise participation in everyday activities
- Make an impact on meaningful outcomes for infants, children and young adults during their individual healthcare journey
- Champion innovative and outcome focussed intervention practices to foster progress and wellbeing of RCH patients
Classification for this position will range from VE8-VF3 Grade 1, Year 1 - Grade 1, Year 5 (base salary $76,345 to $92,861 per annum, plus superannuation).
Your skills and experience:
- Recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate)
- Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Previous clinical experience working within acute care or a hospital environment
- Clinical experience working with children
- Have confidence in educating patients/parents/discipline staff/ multidisciplinary team and members of the wider community to minimise risk and promote successful outcomes for patient care
- Demonstrated ability to work under supervision, improving performance through supervisor feedback and reflective practice

The Occupational Therapy department is within the Division of Allied and Digital Health. We provide inpatient and outpatient services for infants, children, adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions. Our team works closely with families, carers, community services and other health care professionals to ensure the best occupational therapy outcomes for our patients.

Other requirements:
- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
- Valid Working with Children Check
