The Royal Children’s Hospital seeks applications for an experienced Intensive Care Consultant to join the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.


The Role: 


The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is a combined cardiac and general unit.  The successful applicant will join a team of 16 other Specialists offering the full range of ICU services.  They will possess excellent clinical skills in Cardiac Intensive care, take a leadership role in collaborative interdepartmental and interdisciplinary research, will be capable of leading an advanced point-of-care ultrasound program & critical care education program, and will have a demonstrated ability to be part of a diverse Cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic team.


Applicants must have qualifications in Paediatric Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine (CICM equivalent) and be expected on reasonable grounds to hold FCICM at the commencement of employment and be registered to practice medicine in Victoria. Substantial clinical experience in the management of quaternary level paediatric cardiac intensive care is essential. A demonstrated strong commitment to education, training and research is essential, including extensive experience as an educator in a leading role (e.g. program director) and significant facilitatory roles encouraging and leading research or scholarship within the clinical environment. A higher research degree (masters or doctoral level) would be extremely advantageous.
