About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Full Time or Part Time position to cover Parental Leave for 10 months, at 80 or 40 hours per fortnight within the Pharmacy Department.
This role is a combination of two 0.5FTE positions; Clinical Trials and Medicines Information. Candidates interested in part-time options are encouraged to apply for one of the roles.
You will be responsible for
Medicines Information: The provision of medicines information to support patients, parents, and healthcare providers.
Clinical Trials: The provision of a high quality and efficient clinical trials service.
What you’ll achieve:
Medicines Information
- Provision of content for the hospital medicines information Intranet page, Paediatric Injectable Guidelines, Clinical Practice Guidelines, Kids Health Info fact sheets, and other publications, as required
- Participate in medicines information training
- Assisting the EMR team, as subject matter experts, by reviewing and advising on aspects of clinical builds
Clinical Trials
- Maintain and develop relationships with medical and technical staff within RCH, The Department of Paediatrics (University of Melbourne) and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute
- Assist with the set-up of clinical trials
- Be trained in the preparation of GMO products
Classification for this position will range from SX2 – SX5 ($94,478.8 - 106,906.8 per Annum pro rata, plus Superanuation plus Salary Packaging)
Your skills and experience:
- Registered to practice as a pharmacist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency & name appears on the register of the Pharmacy Board of Australia
- Significant and proven experience in hospital pharmacy
- Previous experience in Medicines Information or Clinical trials (desirable)
- Previous experience in paediatrics (desirable)
- Postgraduate qualifications or undertaking a postgraduate course in a relevant discipline. (desirable)

About The Pharmacy Department
We are a team of around 70 staff including pharmacists, technicians, and administrators. Our supportive and collaborative teams include Outpatients, Children’s Cancer Centre, Clinical Pharmacy, Clinical trials, and Medicines Information, HiTH and Sterile Services and the Pharmacy Business Unit.
