About the Role

This is a Part Time, Fixed Term position at 64 hours per fortnight until 15.11.2026 within the Pharmacy Business Unit of the Pharmacy Department.

You will be responsible for the maintenance of the editorial content of the RCH Paediatric Injectable Guideline (PIG).  You will also be responsible for contributing to the daily operations of the Pharmacy Business Unit (PBU), such as scoping, developing, and implementing new products, projects and publications to ensure sustainability of the Unit.

 

What you’ll achieve:

    • Assist and co-lead new projects that will provide a net income, reduce costs for the hospital, improve efficiencies and safety or improve the profile of the department.
    • Assess the workload impact of new initiatives on the PBU and the external Pharmacy department. Develop necessary staffing contingencies to ensure that workload needs are met.
    • Act as Chief Editor for the Paediatric Injectable Guidelines on-line and the printed publication. This involves the editing and co-ordination of other editors to maintain the publication.
    • Participate in the weekend, public holiday and on-call roster for the Pharmacy Department

 

Classification for this position will range from SX6 – SX81, $108,820 - $123,905 per annum (pro rata for part-time).
 

Your skills and experience:

    • Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent
    • Registered to practice as a pharmacist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency & name appears on the register of the Pharmacy Board of Australia
    • Experience with literature retrieval and analysis is desirable
    • Experience with pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks is desirable

About The Pharmacy Business Unit

The Pharmacy Business Unit (PBU) develops and manages Pharmacy related products for both RCH and other healthcare settings, including the Paediatric Injectable Guidelines (PIG), Nappy Goo® barrier cream and Hypertonic Saline nebulising solution.
