About the Role: This is a Permanent Full-Time position at 80 hours per fortnight within the Pharmacy Department.

You will be responsible for providing support to the Pharmacy department through impresting of medications to clinical areas, dispensing of medications and manufacturing in sterile and non-sterile medications.

What you'll achieve: 

  • Processing prescriptions, including computer entry and assembling items - under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
  • Preparing and manufacturing non-sterile pharmaceutical products, under the guidance of a supervising pharmacist 
  • Compounding sterile medications
  • Imprest scanning and delivering of medications to clinical areas
  • Work as part of the roster for weekends and public holidays 

Your skills and experience 

Essential:

  • Experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a busy environment especially those involving working directly with the public
  • Familiar with Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
  • Completed or working towards Certificate III or IV in Hospital Pharmacy
  • Certification or experience in manufacturing intravenous solutions and other sterile pharmaceutical products.

About the Pharmacy Department 

We are a team of around 70 staff including Pharmacists, Technicians and Administrators.

Our supportive and collaborative team includes Outpatients, Children's Cancer Centre, Clinical Pharmacy, Clinical Trials, Medicines Information, Sterile Services and Pharmacy Business Unit.
