The Role:

 

This is a Fixed Term Part Time position to cover Long Service Leave for 5 months at 0.6 FTE/45.6 hrs per fortnight within the Physiotherapy Department.

You will be responsible for providing physiotherapy to children across the neurosciences and cardiorespiratory streams including acute respiratory care, post-operative care, brain injury management, neuromuscular weakness, oncology and developmental care.

 

 

What you’ll achieve:

 

  • Provide clinical care, advice and education in line with clinical guidelines and evidence relevant to the patient’s conditions and clinical needs
  • Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to establish common goals and to develop and offer best care to children and families, ensuring that patient care is integrated and effective
  • Participate in the review and development of clinical service delivery within the Physiotherapy Department as appropriate
  • Support others to be aware of the ethical and legal requirements of the role and adhere to the physiotherapy code of professional conduct and guidelines
  • Provide effective supervision to junior and less experienced staff

 

Classification for this position will range from VB1-VB4 Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 4 (base salary $86,730 to $99,699 per annum, plus superannuation)

 

 

Your skills and experience:

 

  • Significant demonstrated experience in the acute care of medical and surgical paediatric patients
  • Hold a Physiotherapy degree qualification from an accredited course/university
  • Registered to practice as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Satisfy the Physiotherapy Board of Australia Continuing Professional Development and Recency of Practice Guidelines
  • Uphold the Physiotherapy Board of Australia Code of Conduct
