About the Role:

There are a range of part-time, fixed-term positions available within the Physiotherapy Department.  Some roles may be able to be combined to a full-time position.  Details of each role and the current clinical vacancy associated with that role are outlined below.  Some changes in clinical area allocation may occur to achieve best fit across the stream.

  • 0.8 FTE fixed-term until November 2027 (parental leave backfill) currently associated with a clinical vacancy in the area of oncology
  • 0.2 FTE fixed-term until November 2027 (flexible work arrangement backfill) currently associated with a clinical vacancy in the area of neurosciences
  • 0.2 FTE fixed-term until May 2027 (flexible work arrangement backfill) currently associated with a clincial vacancy in the area of neurosciences
  • 0.2 FTE fixed-term until November 2027 (parental leave backfill) currently associated with a clinical vacancy in the area of intensive care and developmental medicine

The oncology and neurosciences roles work within the neurosciences stream.  Areas of clinical practice within this stream include: acute respiratory, oncology, neuromuscular weakness, brain injury, epilepsy, neonatal care, neurosurgery, neurology, developmental care, neural tube defects, bone health, plagiocephaly, aquatic therapy and concussion management.  All staff within the neurosciences stream are involved in working across other areas of clinical practice within the stream at times.  Service delivery within other Physiotherapy Department streams may be required at times to meet workforce demands as directed by the manager.

 

The intensive care and developmental medicine role works within the cardiorespiratory stream.  Areas of clinical practice within this stream include: acute and chronic respiratory, intensive care, post-operative care, cardiac surgery, transplant, developmental care, complex care and aquatic therapy.  All staff within the cardiorespiratory stream are involved in working across other areas of clinical practice within the stream at times.  Service delivery within other Physiotherapy Department streams may be reuqired at times to meet workforce demands as directed by the manager.

 

Classification for this position will range from VB1 - VB4 (base salary $90,235.60 - $103,724.40 FTE per annum pro rata, plus superannuation).

 

What you'll achieve:

  • Provide clinical care, advice and education in line with clincial guidelines and evidence relevant to the patient's condition and clinical needs
  • Ensure timely provision of physiotherapy services through appropriate prioritisation of own caseload, that of junior staff, as well as patient needs
  • Work effecitvely and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to establish common goals and to develop and offer best care to children and families,ensuring that patient care is integrated and effective
  • Identify personal and professional development needs, and plan and implement stragetiges for achieving them

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Hold a Physiotherapy degree qualification and registration to practice as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
  • Have experience working in an acute tertiary and/or acute paediatric environment
  • Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills and the ability to apply these in practice
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in areas of physiotherapy practice relevant to the clinical stream
