About the Role

This is a Full-Time Fixed Term Parental Leave cover position at 80 hours per fortnight until 12.03.2027 within the Procurement & Supply Chain Department.

You will be responsible for coordinating the procurement of goods and services to support The Royal Children’s Hospital’s commitment to excellence in paediatric healthcare, research, and education.

You will ensure all procurement activities align with RCH’s mission and standards by working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, while following best practices and organizational policies.

Classification for this position will range from Grade 3 Year 1 to Grade 3 Year 5 (AO31 - AO35) (FTE base salary $74,448.4 to $82,305.6 per annum, plus superannuation).

 

What you’ll achieve:

  • Ensure a streamlined and accurate procurement process by maintaining up-to-date product catalogues and managing end-to-end purchasing in compliance with RCH and Health Share policies.
  • Build strong supplier partnerships that result in timely, cost-effective delivery of goods and swift resolution of payment or invoicing issues.
  • Enhance procurement efficiency across the organisation by providing effective training and support on the Procure to Pay System.
  • Drive cost savings and improve procurement performance through proactive supplier management, recall coordination, and identification of process improvements.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment by working closely with colleagues and departments to align purchasing with hospital needs.

 

Your skills and experience

 

  • Several years of technical or administrative experience, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in Procure to Pay systems or similar procurement platforms.
  • Strong computer skills across the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and solve business problems effectively.
  • Experience in a procurement or purchasing role, with a strong understanding of the healthcare sector (desirable).
