About the Role

 

 

Permanent, Part Time 20-36 hours per week.

 

This role within Koala, Cardiac Surgery Ward will allow you to ensure positive health outcomes for patients through your ability to integrate nursing health care knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective, evidence-based nursing care. The supportive environment On Koala Ward will enrich your development in paediatric cardiac and renal care, utilising skills to conduct comprehensive and systematic nursing assessments to improve the quality of nursing care. You will be actively supported to participate in professional development to enhance your nursing practice throughout your career.

Classification; YP3 - YP9 (base salary $71,333.6‬0 - 95,378.40 per annum, plus superannuation)

 

 

Your Skills and Experience

 

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP).
  • Employees are required to maintain compliance with RCHs “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure.
  • Recent experience in an acute, medical, surgical, and/or speciality area of nursing
  • Paediatric experience (desirable, not required)

About the Department - Koala Ward, Cardiac Surgery

 

Koala ward is a 30-bed unit providing specialist care to children ranging from neonates to 18yrs, with cardiac and renal conditions with a ranging acuity including high dependency and special care nursery patients. Our patients admitted to Koala Ward come from all over Victoria, Australia and Overseas to receive specialist cardiac treatments including cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, medical therapies and electrophysiology and specialist renal treatments including medical and surgical management, renal transplant, and peritoneal dialysis.
