About the Role

 

This is an ongoing Casual position within the Nursing and Administration Workforce Casual Bank. In this role you will be required to work across various wards throughout the RCH to backfill planned and unplanned leave. You will be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with RCH and Australian Nurses and Midwifery Council standards, by providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice to facilitate optimal health outcomes.

What you'll achieve:

  • Fulfil duty of care by practicing within scope of practice in accordance with Australian Nursing & Midwifery Council guidelines
  • Demonstrate analytical skills in assessing and evaluating health information
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Plan nursing care in consultation with others (i.e. multidisciplinary health care team)

 

Classification for this position will range from Bank RN, Grade 2 Year 2 to Grade 2 Year 8 (ZU4-ZU11).

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio
  • Flexibility and availability for shifts across wards will be highly valued
  • Minimum 2 years acute Paediatric Nursing Experience is desirable
  • Commitment to working a minimum of 3 shifts per month

About Nursing and Administration Workforce
Nursing and Administration Workforce (NAW) provides an important service to The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) managers and staff to support the provision of high-quality patient care at the RCH.
The team is responsible for the:

  • Provision and management of high quality, in-house casual workforce services to the RCH wards and departments to meet operational requirements
  • Supporting rostering operation activities including roster creation, roster maintenance and associate processes such as shift filling

Our goal is to provide professional, effective and customer orientated casual bank management and rostering services to our customers and effective, professional candidate care to our RCH casual bank members.
