About the Role:

This is a Permanent Full Time position within the Medical Imaging department. You will be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with RCH and Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia Standards. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice across a range of contexts, to facilitate optimal health outcomes; performing self-assessment of scope of practice and competence related to assigned responsibilities as discussed with the care delivery team; retaining responsibility for individual actions and accountability for care provided. 

Medical Imaging nurses care for children with ages ranging from the newborn to the young person. The nursing role combines the care of the child and family with the demands of complex diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology imaging procedures.

• Schedule: Nine-day fortnight, Monday - Friday nine-hour shifts with an on-call service for out of hours emergencies.

• Fulfil duty of care while understanding and practicing within own scope of practice in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia guidelines
• Integrates nursing and health care knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe and effective care.
• Conducts a comprehensive and systematic nursing assessmentto improve the quality of nursing care

Classification for this position will range from YP4 - YP9 (base salary $72,945.60 to $95,378.40 per annum, plus superannuation)

Your skills and experience:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD)record/Profession al practice Portfolio
• Recent experience in an acute, medical, surgical, and/or specialty area of nursing is desirable 
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously as necessary
• Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible to changing priorities and environment

The Department:

The Medical Imaging Department provides imaging services for both inpatient and outpatients across a range of modalities which include conventional x-ray, CT, MRI, MR PET, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Cardiac Catheter Lab, DSA and Fluoroscopy. As a Registered Nurse you will contribute to our service working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
