About the Role:


In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with Royal Children's Hospital and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards. This is done by providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice across a range of contexts, to facilitate optimal health outcomes for our patients. This is an exciting opportunity within the Cockatoo Ward (Surgical and Neuro Care), where you will use your integrated nursing health care knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective care. We offer excellent professional development to enhance your nursing practice and conduct comprehensice and systematic nursing assessments to improve the quality of our nursing care provided in Cockatoo Ward.

We currently have ongoing opportunities, for part-time and full-time roles with flexible rostering options available.


What you'll achieve:

  • Integrate nursing health care knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective care
  • Demonstrate analytical skills in assessing and evaluating health information
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Plan nursing care in consultation with others (i.e. multidisciplinary health care team)


Classification for this position will range from $71,333.80 to $95,378.40 per annum (pro rata), plus superannuation.


Your skills and experience:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio
  • Flexibility and availability for shifts across wards will be highly valued
  • Acute Nursing Experience
  • Demonstrated paediatric oncology experience would be required

Cockatoo - Surgical and Neuro Care Ward cares for patients aged from infancy to adolescence from Victoria, Australia and internationally. The clinical staff provide comprehensive care to patients with neurological,, neurosurgical, metabolic, endocrine and complex gastroenterology and hepatology conditions.
