About the Role:

This is a Permanent Part Time position at 0.8 FTE/ 64 hours per fortnight within the Cockatoo Ward.

You will be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) and Australian Nurses and Midwifery Council standards. This will be achieved through providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice across a range of contexts, to facilitate optimal health outcomes for our patients. We offer excellent professional development to enhance your nursing practice and conduct comprehensive and systematic nursing assessments to improve the quality of our nursing care provided. This is a rewarding role which will see you involved in all aspects of nursing, including assessments, treatment and delivery of care.

 

What you’ll achieve:

  • Integrates nursing and health care knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide safe and effective care
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Participate in professional development to enhance nursing practice
  • Demonstrate analytical skills in accessing and evaluating health information and research evidence
  • Practice within a professional & ethical nursing framework

 

Classification for this position will range from YP3 - YP9, Grade 2 Year 2 to Grade 2 Year 8 (FTE base salary $71,333 to $95,378 per annum, plus superannuation).

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Profession al practice Portfolio (PPP)
  • Recent acute paediatric nursing is desirable
