The Role:

  • Salary: $69,253.60  - $92,601.60 per annum (pro-rata)

In this role you will ensure that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with Royal Children's Hospital and Australian Nurses and Midwifery Council standards. This is done by providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice to facilitate optimal health outcomes for our patients. This is an exciting new opportunity within the Kookaburra ward, where you will use your integrated nursing health care knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective care. We offer excellent professional development to enhance your nursing practice and conduct comprehensive and systematic nursing assessments to improve the quality of our nursing care.

 

Kookaburra Ward - Cancer Care

Kookaburra – Cancer Care Ward is part of The RCH Children's Cancer Centre (CCC), the largest partner in the Victorian Paediatric Integrated Cancer Services (PICS), and the only provider of complex children's cancer care and stem cell transplantation in Victoria. The team of specialist medical, nursing, research and allied health professionals provide care and services to meet the clinical, physical, social and psychological needs of patients and parents. Their multidisciplinary approach aims to maximise quality of life outcomes associated with cancer treatments and long-term survivorship. The Kookaburra team includes: paediatric, medical oncologists, specialty nursing staff, mental health clinicians, social workers, oncology pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other Allied Health professionals including art, music and play therapists.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Recent experience in an acute, medical, surgical, and/or specialty area of nursing
  • Paediatric experience or Adult Oncology desirable
  • Evidence of on-going professional development as reflected in Professional Practice Portfolio
