About the Role

This is a full time, ongoing position at 60.8 hours per fortnight within the Gatehouse Sexual Assault Service Harmful Sexual Behaviour Program at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

You will be responsible for providing advanced clinical practice within a trauma model of recovery and specific risk assessment framework for children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour, and their family members. You will also be responsible for providing high quality clinical supervision and will support the intake service as needed to respond to requests and inquiries for services. This role also requires you to participate in the after-hours sexual assault crisis response roster.

 

What you’ll achieve:

  • Provision of advanced practice, evidence-based assessment and therapeutic interventions to children and young people from a trauma focused model of recovery
  • Professional development and wellbeing of clinicians by providing specialist sexual assault clinical supervision, mentoring and informal support.
  • Meaningful contribution to best and innovative practice in the harmful sexual behaviour field by leading and participating in quality improvement projects and service evaluations.

 

Classification for this position will range from Psychologist Grade 3, Year 1 to Year 4 (PL1 – PL4), Social Worker Grade 3, Year 1 to Year 4 (SC31 – SC34), Occupational Therapist Grade 3 Year 1 to Year 4 (VG3 – VG6) or, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Grade 4 Year 1 to Year 3 (NP75 – NP77).

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Recognised qualification in relevant discipline and current registration with relevant AHPRA Board and/or eligibility for membership with professional body
  • Experience in the provision of clinical supervision 
  • Ability to provide advanced practice support, risk assessment and therapeutic service to children and young people.

About Gatehouse

Gatehouse is a specialist sexual assault service, based at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Gatehouse provides therapeutic interventions and support for Children and young people aged 0-17 and their non-offending family members and carers living in the Brimbank Melton or Western Melbourne areas (Moonee Valley, Maribyrnong, Melbourne Hobsons Bay and Wyndham LGAs) or who are inpatients at the The Royal Children’s Hospital. Services are provided at the Centre’s community-based services in Melton, Werribee as well as at the RCH.
