About the Role 

 

Are you a dedicated crisis response, counselling and social services professional looking to make a significant impact to the lives of children and families? Join SASH’s Sexual Assault Support Services team at the RCH as the Intake and Crisis Response Senior Clinician in a full time, ongoing capacity at 80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADO.  

In this role, you will be responsible for advanced risk assessment, practice and clinical supervision, within a trauma model of recovery for children and young people who have experienced sexual harm or engaged in harmful sexual behaviour and their non-offending family members. This role leads SASH’s intake function by consulting and supporting decision making regarding child wellbeing referrals and associated legislative responsibilities, referrals for services including sexual assault crisis responses and inquiries regarding child sexual abuse or harmful sexual behaviour. Thr role also requires participation in the after-hours sexual assault crisis response roster.   

 

What you’ll achieve:

 

 

  • Provision of advanced practice risk assessment and support for children who have experienced sexual harm or engaged in harmful sexual behaviour and their family members using a trauma focused model of recovery 

  • Professional development and wellbeing of clinicians by providing specialist sexual assault clinical supervision, mentoring and informal support.  

  • Collaborative relationships with external partners to maximise access, service coordination and opportunities for joint initiatives in the community.  

 

Classification for this position will range from Psychologist Grade 3, Year 1 to Year 4 (PL1 – PL4), Social Worker Grade 3, Year 1 to Year 4 (SC31 – SC34), Occupational Therapist Grade 3 Year 1 to Year 4 (VG3 – VG6) or, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Grade 4 Year 1 to Year 3 (NP75 – NP77).  

 

Your skills and experience: 

 

  • Recognised qualification in relevant discipline and current registration with relevant AHPRA Board and/or eligibility for membership with professional body 

  • Experience in the provision of clinical supervision  

  • Ability to provide advanced practice risk assessment and crisis intervention to children and families.

About SASH 

 

SASH is a Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA) - a specialist sexual assault service, based at the Royal Children’s Hospital. 

SASH provides: 

  1. Sexual Assault Crisis Response ​for children following sexual harm (recent experience or disclosure) and their families. This support is face-to-face and provided 24/7 at the RCH.  

  1. Counselling ​for children living in metro west Melbourne who have experienced sexual harm or engaged in harmful sexual behaviour and their families.  

  1. Consultation and professional education to enhance capacity, confidence and capability in the community for the safety, rights and recovery of children after sexual harm.
