Senior Neuropsychologist (Grade 4) – Team Leader Neonatal Neurodevelopment Clinic

About the Role
This is a Permanent, Part Time position at 60.8 per fortnight within Neonatal Medicine.
You will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive assessments of children aged two and five years old who were cared for on the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or affiliated units with high-risk infant admissions at RCH (e.g. PICU). The Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist will provide leadership within the psychology discipline in the Neonatal Neurodevelopmental Clinic. You will work closely with other team members to achieve family-centred care for children cared for at RCH as infants.
Classification for this position will range from PL1-PL4.
What you’ll achieve:
- The successful applicant will be responsible for undertaking comprehensive assessments of children aged two and five years old who were cared for on the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or affiliated units with high-risk infant admissions at RCH.
- The Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist will provide leadership within the psychology discipline in the High-Risk Infant Neurodevelopmental Follow up Clinic.
- You will contribute to the Neonatal Medicine Greater Care initiative by engaging in quality and research initiatives
Your skills and experience
- Hold an accredited Master or Doctoral qualification in clinical neuropsychology, recognised by Psychology Board of Australia. (Note - Master of Professional Psychology qualification does not meet this criterion)
- Hold an Area of Practice Endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia in clinical neuropsychology
- Have significant (at least 8 years) post-qualification (higher-degree) experience as a psychologist, and specialised skills in clinical practice in paediatric clinical neuropsychology
Demonstrated experience as a manager of clinical staff in a health setting

About the Department
The Department of Neonatal Medicine specialises in the management of newborn infants with surgical and complex medical conditions. We have in excess of 800 admissions per year. We recognise the importance of structured, targeted neurodevelopmental follow‐up and to this end have developed a dedicated multi‐disciplinary High Risk Infant Neurodevelopmental Follow-Up Clinic in which targeted sub‐groups of our patients will be assessed at key time points in their development.
