About the Role:

This is a Part Time ongoing Sonographer position at 0.7FTE (56 hours per fortnight) within the Medical Imaging Department. As a paediatric sonographer, you will be required to provide a quality imaging service to patients and referrers in the Ultrasound Department and form part of the dynamic ultrasound team.

Under the direction of the Lead Sonographer, you will contributes to the ongoing care of paediatric patients in spheres of diagnosis, disease monitoring and treatment. The goal is to optimise and maintain high standards/procedures and to succeed in producing reliable, timely and important results which really make a difference. This role includes performing imaging at a senior level and providing ongoing supervision and mentoring to student and trainees under the guidance of the Lead Clinical Educator Sonographer.

What you'll achieve:

  • Deliver excellent evidence-based practice in Medical Imaging procedures and interventions for all patients attending the RCH
  • Provide efficient and high quality of imaging services, including but not limited to staff recruitment, training, and performance management in accordance with RCH policies and any relevant external professional bodies
  • Model a commitment to continuing professional development and support junior staff in developing and accomplishing professional goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership in clinical, daily workflow, and administrative duties, managing a complex and varied clinical caseload

 

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Post Graduate Diploma (or equivalent) in Sonography with suitable undergraduate Degree
  • Accreditation with the ASAR
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in Sonography
  • Previous paediatric experience is preferred, but not essential
