About the Role

This is full-time, fixed term Grade 1 New Graduate role in the Speech Pathology Department. You will be responsible for providing high-quality assessment and treatment to paediatric inpatients and outpatients at RCH with communication and/or swallowing difficulties across a range of clinical areas. You will receive training and support to manage your caseload and be exposed to a variety of clinical areas during your 12 months.

  • You’ll work effectively and flexibly within teams demonstrating strong communication and collaboration skills
  • You’ll prepare timely, well written reports/documentation and provide effective verbal feedback to referrers, patients, families, and teams
  • You’ll always act in a professional and ethical manner

 

Classification for Grade 1 New Graduate is VP3 ($70,590 plus superannuation). This includes five weeks' paid annual leave and the option of one rostered day off a month. 

 

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Meet the requirements of the Speech Pathology Australia Professional Self-Regulation program
  • Upholds the Speech Pathology Australia Code of Conduct

About the Department

We are a team of approximately 10 FTE speech pathologists. We provide services to both inpatient and outpatient paediatric populations in the areas of eating, drinking and swallowing, speech, language, voice, cleft palate, and tracheostomy. The role is busy but varied, interesting, and well supported. We have access to education and research staff who can help us with our quality and research goals.
