Team Leader - Medical Workforce Recruitment & Contracting

 

About the Role

This is a full-time position within the Medical Workforce Unit – pelase note, applications at 0.8-1.0 FTE will be considered.

 

You will be responsible for providing leadership for the Medical Workforce HR Advisor team and the coordination and delivery of end-to-end recruitment functions (selection, recruitment, credentialing, contracting and onboarding) for junior medical staff within defined clinical units at the RCH.

 

What you’ll achieve:

  • Provide leadership for the Medical Workforce - Recruitment and Contracting stream to ensure optimal team performance, delivery of the unit’s workplan and a strong customer service focus. 
  • Provide supervision to individual Medical Workforce HR Advisors to optimise individual skill development and work performance, and monitor and adjust workload allocations. 
  • Liaise with clinical units regarding annual recruitment cycles and workforce requirements to support planning and resource allocation. 
  • Provide direction, support and education to individual clinical units for job requisition and candidate selection processes to ensure good governance and appropriate delegation of authority for appointment decisions.
  • Oversee administrative arrangements for bulk recruitment cycles.

 

Classification for this position will range from AO51 – AO55 classification codes (base salary $90,672 to $100,599 per annum, plus superannuation)

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Recognised undergraduate/graduate-entry or postgraduate qualification in human resources management, industrial relations or equivalent OR 4-6 years recognised industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in working as a human resources advisor/practitioner within a hospital or healthcare setting, including an understanding of industrial and legal instruments pertaining to professional-level health workforces
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to manage individual and team-level performance 
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise own and team-level workloads, and achieve key deliverables within specified timelines 
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders

About the Medical Workforce Unit

The Medical Workforce Unit oversees the centralised recruitment, onboarding and coordination of junior medical staff (JMS)/paediatric trainees, working both on-site at RCH and rotating through various external Victorian secondment sites.
