About the Role:
This is a Permanent Full Time position at 80 per fortnight within the Workplace Health and Safety Team
You will be responsible for the ongoing facilitation of our ‘Smart Move Smart Lift’ program, and investigating manual handling incident/trends throughout the hospital to provide updates and strategic advice to our Executive. In addition you will be involved in Project Management that falls within the Workplace Health and Safety team – currently the implementation of our Occupational Violence and Aggression Plan is at the forefront of the current project work.
What you’ll achieve:
- Ongoing Management of the internal Smart Move Smart Lift Program
- Assistance with the implementation of our Occupational Violence and Aggression Plan
- Managing relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Influencing Management on WHS specific issues
Classification for this position will range from A081 –A085 (base salary $116,568.40 - $128,642.80 per annum, plus superannuation)
Your skills and experience:
- Have a sound knowledge of all relevant statutory provisions including those contained in the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (Vic), Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic), Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic), Return to Work Compliance Codes and applicable provisions within respective Enterprise Bargaining Agreements.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in injury management, allied health or another related field.
- Strong Project Management skills
- Ability to develop and effectively implement process improvement and change. You will need to be a strategic thinker

About the Workplace Health and Safety Team
The Workplace Health and Safety Team is responsible for influencing a safety culture within RCH. It is a multidisciplinary team that work in conjunction with all areas of the Hospital to manage risks, incidents and safety issues, whilst also being responsible for staff wellbeing and injury management.
