About the Role:

 

This is a Fixed Term Part Time position at 16 hours per fortnight within the department of Anatomical Pathology, Royal Women's Hospital. 

You will be responsible for the provision of expert perinatal pathology services to The Royal Women’s Hospital and external organisations.

 

What you’ll achieve:

 

  • Contribute to all aspects of the perinatal pathology service including efficient and accurate reporting of perinatal autopsies and associated placental pathology
  • Participate in perinatal pathology specialist training opportunities
  • Contribute to the research output of the department through projects specifically related to Perinatal Pathology and/or collaborations with other Clinical Departments in clinicopathological studies
  • Participate in supervision and training of registrars in perinatal pathology

Classification for this position will range from HN16 – HN36 (base salary up to $92,605 per annum, plus superannuation)

 

Your skills and experience:

 

  • Eligible for full registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia
  • Consultant experience in subspecialist perinatal Anatomical Pathology reporting or successful completion of the RCPA Autopsy Certificate is desirable

About Department of Anatomical Pathology, Royal Women’s Hospital:

 

We are a division of the Royal Children’s Hospital Laboratory Services and provide specialist gynaecological and breast histopathology, reporting around 14000 cases per year. We are also one of the three Victorian Perinatal Autopsy Service hubs performing over 200 perinatal autopsies per year.
