The Role:
The Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program (VIHSP) screens the hearing of newborn babies while they are still in hospital or at an outpatient appointment in the first weeks of life. For further information about VIHSP, go to http://www.rch.org.au/vihsp/
The VIHSP Area Manager-Fitzroy is responsible for managing a team of Hearing Screeners located in Fitzroy The role involves the provision of leadership to the staff; assistance with recruitment and training; staff performance evaluation; team management; operational responsibility for screening duties; stakeholder relationships; and ensuring quality and standards are met at all times. The Area Manager will also have a key role in the program's strategic direction and ongoing evaluation.
- 30.4 hrs per fortnight-days negotiable

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or significant relevant industry experience
- Experience in people management
- Experience within the paediatric environment, preferably with infants
- Proven capacity for leadership in a team environment and ability to work well as a senior team member
- Experience with staff recruitment and training
- Experience with database management
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence, as the ability to travel between maternity hospitals is essential
