Environmental Services Officer & Driver
- Permanent, Part Time Commercial Cleaner and Non-clinical Medical Courier
- 30 hours per week available (6 hour shifts, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:00pm)

About the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Mental Health Department
RCH Mental Health comprises hospital-based (Parkville) and community services. This includes multidisciplinary outpatient teams which are based at Travancore, Sunshine/Brimbank and Tarneit.
The Opportunity:
Working both autonomously and with the collaboration of other Eso Staff you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring appropriate cleaning standards are maintained throughout RCH Mental Health Travancore campus including
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, using of industrial chemicals and equipment, rubbish removal, cleaning of bathroom amenities and kitchen area, ordering of cleaning stock and some cleaning of outdoor areas is required
- Being consistent with the Infection Control guidelines, policy and Cleaning Standards for Victorian Health Facilities
You will also be responsible for vehicle delivery and pickup of items required for our Royal Children’s Hospital mental health office locations in a safe and timely manner (training will be provided for this work) This includes but not limited to:
- Driving an automatic company fleet vehicle between our mental health outpatient sites and other supplier locations as required
- Vehicle transportation of RCH equipment and maintenance of courier fleet car
- Transporting of items across these sites including – mail, stores items, medical records, computer equipment and other items as required
What you’ll bring to the role
- Demonstrated previous cleaning experience: commercial, hospital or office environment
- Knowledge and experience of infection control principles and procedures and the ability to safely handle commercial cleaning chemicals
- Basic computer skills, well developed written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide great customer service (essential)
- Ability to work closely with other Environmental Service Officers, sharing the workload and effectively communicate to achieve results
Classification for this position will be $53,508.00 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation.

- This position is based at the RCH’s Travancore Campus
- A clean and current full drivers’ licence for the State of Victoria (up to 1.25 tonnes) is required
